Permit Application and Compliance Services
We prepare a variety of permit applications and complete tasks to comply with these permits.
Clean Water Act Permits/Certifications

We prepare permit applications for impacts to waters of the U.S. and/or state to comply with Sections 401 and 404 of the Clean Water Act. We gather information, lead a pre-application meeting with the relevant agencies (i.e., U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for impacts to Waters of the U.S. and Regional Water Quality Control Board for impacts to Waters of the State), work with you to develop mitigation, and prepare the permit applications for the agencies.

CDFW Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreements
We contact the local CDFW personnel, present the project, and prepare the notification for review. We also negotiate the terms of a Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement to satisfy CDFW's concerns and avoid needless requirements.
If your project has the potential to impact a California listed species we prepare Incidental Take Permit applications in coordination with CDFW and any other relevant agencies (i.e., USFWS) to comply with the California Endangered Species Act. We develop mitigation strategies with you and present them to CDFW for approval prior to submission of the application.

Biological Assessments and Habitat Conservation Plans
If you project has the potential to impact a federally listed species we determine if there is a federal nexus for the project and prepare a biological assessment in support of Section 7 or a Habitat Conservation Plan in support of Section 10 to comply with the Endangered Species Act.

Pre-Construction Surveys
We complete pre-construction surveys required by permits and environmental documents. These can include nesting bird, rare plant, special status species, and other surveys. Afterwards we prepare a report with a summary of the methods and results of the surveys.

Construction Monitoring and Worker Training
We monitor construction activities to help prevent accidental take of protected species and comply with environmental permits and regulations. We also train workers on compliance with these permits and regulations, which are often called Worker Environmental Awareness Program trainings.
Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP)
We complete compliance inspections in support of SWPPPs and are qualified to prepare SWPPPs. We have Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD), Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP), and Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) certifications and can complete these services while on site for biological compliance activities or separately.
